I have sometimes referred to myself as "Mr. TechnoKlutz," not being the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to anything that has buttons on it. Once, while consulting at an elementary school, I was in the teachers lounge, and thought there was a machine I could master: the paper shredder. This one had but two buttons: "On" and "Off." And, it was color-coded: green and red, respectively. I turned on the "On" button. I was halfway to mastery! I gradually eased my pile of papers into the mouth of the machine. Not two seconds later, the machine apparently got indigestion and stopped. I was so close to mastery!
I say this because, while not a Luddite, I have not mastered texting, computers, Skyping, digital or phone cameras, do not own an iPad, and I apparently have a DumbPhone, but I do so enjoy face-to-face "real time" encounters with people, hence my career as a therapist (see phone number). And if this second career as a wood artist evolves, it will be, hopefully, in large part due to connecting face-to-face, by phone, and, as a start, via email.
